A Grassroot mobilizer, Hon. Uche Onah has described the declaration of His Excellency Senator Ike Ekweremadu to run for the governorship seat in the state as a declaration of the will of the masses, the good people of Enugu state. 

Speaking to newsmen in Enugu, a grass root mobilizer and one of the few great activists in the state with genuine spirits, Hon. Uche Onah described the news of Ekweremadu's entrance into the race as the best of its kind and a practical reflection of the calls from the good people of Enugu state for him to replace the outgoing governor of the State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi whose tenure will expire next year. 

Hon. Onah who is also an international business mogul and one of the party leaders in the state vowed to mobilize his resources and that of his allies to make sure this declaration becomes a reality. In his words "I have never done this before for anyone because you can't trust these politicians but you see Senator Ike Ekweremadu, take him serious any time he speaks. He is one of the very few politicians in this country I have so much respect and regard for simply because he can be trusted and has delivered and still delivering an excellent job in his previous and present assignments. The new Enugu state we want to build needs a personality and a character like Senator Ike Ekweremadu to do a perfect job."

Hon. Onah stated that he is using this opportunity to send a strong warning to politicians, stating that it won't be business as usual for anyone who thinks he can continue to play on the intelligence of the good people of Enugu state by dragging us back to the so-called zoning. He said even if we are to talk about zoning, it is the turn of the Greater Awgu to produce the next governor of Enugu State which Senator Ekweremadu fit in very well but you know what, the world has moved on and Enugu state can't stand to lag behind. The people of Enugu state have resolved that Senator Ekweremadu will be the next governor of Enugu State and no man can stop it because it is a divine project to lift the state to a supposed height and place the south east on the good map in the country. 

No doubt, the choice of Senator Ekweremadu as the next governor of Enugu State is not unconnected with his wide range of experience and right leadership skill needed for unprecedented turn around in a state. His leadership skills such as resourcefulness, straightforwardness, and composure, as well as building and mending relationships, decisiveness, and doing whatever it takes to bring an end to an unwarranted situation is another strong point of his unique leadership qualities. So people like Prof. Ekweremadu are seen as quick to acquire new knowledge, resourceful, and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve agreed-upon goals. He remains the best man for the job.
