[News] 2023: Parallel primaries loom in Enugu PDP as Ekweremmadu’s anti zoning group intensity plots, purchase forms for all positions
All things being equal, the ruling People’s Democratic party, PDP in Enugu State will on 7th may 2022 commence it’s primary elections ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Simon Ede, a public affair analyst has this to say;
“Parallel primaries loom in Enugu State as Sen. Ike Ekweremadu and his anti zoning group intensify their plots, purchase forms for all positions, ie, from the governorship to State Assembly positions in Enugu state.
“Ekweremmadu is hoping on a replay of 2014 scenario with Sullivan Chime where he will be giving soft landing by offering him option.
“Emerging reports also indicate that some political blocs in Enugu East senatorial zone are now building support around opposition party, APGA to be precise and hope to use same to upstage the PDP should Ugwuanyi choose unpopular candidate.
This is coming at a time that Frank Nweke Jnr, a close political associate of Senator Chimaroke Nnamani decamped from PDP to APGA to pursue his gubernatorial ambition.

As more events unfold, here are those who have reportedly purchased the governorship interest/nomination form in Enugu State;
1. Sen. Prof. Ike Ekweremadu, CFR.
2. Prof. Jehu Onyekwere Nnaji
3. Sen. Gilbert Nnaji
4. Barr. Peter Mbah
5. Chief Evarest Nnaji
6. Hon. Barr. Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga
7. Sir Christian Chinyeaka Oha
8. Rt. Hon. Ofor Chukwuegbo
9. Dr. Chukwudi Nneji
10. Dr. Ken Onoh.
Also from the grapevine is that Prof. Barth Nnaji, Edward Ubosi and one other top ranking member of the PDP from Isi-Uzo are most likely to purchase their interest/nomination form before the 8th March, 2022 deadline for the sale of form.
We keep our fingers crossed as Ndi Enugu await Ugwuanyi’s pronouncement”
