[News] A GENIUS AND CYNOSURE OF ALL EYES IS WORTH KNOWING BETTER: PROF. JEHU ONYEKWERE NNAJI; A POLITICAL SENSEI, HAS INDEED, GOT THE REQUIRED*

PROF. JEHU ONYEKWERE NNAJI, of Amurri kingdom in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu state, was born on the 25th day of March, years back, to Mr. Godswill Okafor Nnaji and Mrs. Grace Onyenweaku Nnaji. His paternal grandfather was Nnaji Chukwu Anu; who lived up to 125 years and was the oldest man. Oh, little did Nnaji family know that a "hero" had been gifted to them from God.

JEHU attended his Primary school at the Green Street Primary School, Aba, Abia state, Secondary school at the Wilcox Memorial Comprehensive School, Aba, Abia state and Universities at University of Benin, Benin City; where he obtained Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics, Rivers State University, Port Harcourt; where he obtained Master's degree in Business Administration (Marketing Option - MBA), and Master's degree in Law and Diplomacy, University of Naples II, Italy; where he obtained PhD in Comparative Constitutional Law and Integration Processes, University of Kansas Law School, USA; where he equally obtained PhD in Research in Comparative Constitutionalism.

ONYEKWERE later became a Judge at the International Criminal Court (ICCMCC), sitting at The Hague, Netherlands (2007-date), in collaboration with the International Bar Association, London, UK. He is a Professor and Consultant in Civil and Criminal Matters at the Italian Ministry of Justice and at the High Courts of Naples and Santa Maria Capua Vetere (CE), Italy. Nnaji is a Lead Detective/Investigator to the Courts of Naples and Santa Maria at the Italian Ministry of Justice, in conjunction with the Italian Judicial and Military Police, where his activities and responsibilities are basic on:

- Anti-Mafia/Cyber Crimes detection and prevention.

- Lawful Telephone Interceptions.

- Environmental/GPS Monitoring.

- Diligent Prosecution.

NNAJI is indeed, a "Political sensei". He is a Professor and Conference Convenor/Chair of International Political Science Association (IPSA), Montreal, Canada, a Professor and Scientific Member of Group of Researchers in International Law, under the auspices of Italian National Research Council on the theme "Synallagmatic Relationship between Disarmament and Nuclear Non-Proliferation: Strengthening Treaty Obligations and Countering Nuclear Terrorism". He is equally, the Professor and President, Globe Visions Network-A Migration and Integration Organisation.

The Distinguished Professor of International Law and Global Politics, is a Professor and Distinguished Visiting Scholar at the School of Law, University of Kansas, USA, under the auspices of the United States Department of State (2010), with focus and responsibilities on:

- Analytical work on the US Constitution against the backdrop of American Federalism.

- Analysis of contemporary issues relating to illegal Immigration, Integration, and Internationalism.

- Teaching Law classes and participating in Faculty Workshops.

- Constitutional Presentation and Analysis at the State Legislature of the US State of Kansas.

PROF. NNAJI is indeed, a great scholar. He is equally a Professor and Research Scholar at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL), London, England, United Kingdom (2010-2012) and a Professor of International Law, Politics and Integration, University of Naples II, Italy (2009), where he  was:

- Teaching courses in European Comparative Law and Integration Processes.

- Organising International Seminars, Colloquiums and Practicums on European Migration.

- Handling Lead roles in Intercultural Mediation and Private International Law (Conflict of Laws).

He is also Professor and Independent Researcher at the Institute for the Unification of Private Laws (UNIDROIT), Rome, Italy (2007) and a Professor and Dean for Migration and International studies (Foundazione Centro Fernandes), Castel Volturno (CE), Italy (2004-2009), with such responsibilities as:

- Immigration and Intercultural Mediator.

- Legal and Trade advice to Italians and Immigrants.

PROF. JEHU was a Grant recipient of the Foundazione Mediterraneo, Naples, Italy, as a Professor of International Law and Diplomacy. He, there, focused on:

- Symposia and Practicums on Private International Law (Conflict of Laws) within the United States and Italy.

- Provision of legal framework to explain cultural and language diversity among immigrants within the United States and Italy.

JEHU is indeed, one of a kind, extremely workaholic and earnest in many fields of endeavour. He is not just academically endowed, he is business and politically inclined, as could be seen in some of his very many leadership positions. He was engaged in the following roles:

_ Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager at Shell Petroleum and Development Company Nigerian Limited (SPDC), with basic activities on:

- Supervision of works on offshore and onshore projects of SPDC.

- Drafting of Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) between SPDC and Host Communities.

- Project Evaluation and Certification In Line With SPDC specifications.

- Liaison between Shell and Host Communities, as well as with Government Agencies.

NNAJI was a Manager of External Works' Staffs at Prodeco Ltd - Italian Construction and Furniture Company, with basic activities on:

- Employment and Drafting of staff to duty posts.

- Mediation between Company and Host Communities.

- Legal and Political settlements between Company and Host Communities.

JEHU has earned several honourable Awards. He has been honoured with:

- Judge at the International Criminal Court (ICCMCC) sitting at The Hague, Netherlands (2017-date).

- Distinction Award for best PhD at the University of Naples II, Italy (2013).

- Merit Award Winner of the 2013 Scientific Conferences of University held at the University of Naples II, Italy.

- Professor and Distinguished Visiting Scholar at the School of Law, University of Kansas, USA (2010-2012).

- Fellowship Award from British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL), London, England, United Kingdom (2010-2012).

- J1 Exchange Scholar and Visiting Scholar under the auspices of the United States Department of State (2010).

- University Scholar at the University of Naples II, Italy (2009).

- Scholarship Award from the University of Naples II, Italy (2009).

- Research Funding from the Foundazione Mediterraneo, Naples, Italy (2010).

PROF. NNAJI is a member of numerous notable professional international organisations. He is a:

- Professor and Member of the International Bar Association, London UK.

- Professor and Member of International Law Society, USA.

- Professor and Member of British Institute of International and Comparative Law, London, UK.

- Professor and Member of American Society of International Law.

- Professor and Member of International Political Science Association.

- Professor and Member of American Political Science Association.

      

On the flip side, Professor Nnaji has had a fair share and participation in the sports and  entertainment industries, as he has actively featured in the following areas:

- Actor on the Network programmes of the Nigerian Television Authority in the early 1990s, and featured in such series as "At your Service", "Telemovies", "Third Eye".

- He also presented Body-building on NTA talk show "Who's On the Night Train" in a segment he was known as "Mr Callisthenics".

- On NTA Channel 10 Lagos, he presented Body-building and was the sole Organiser of "Mr Olympus" - a Body-building championship sponsored by Coca cola in 1992 which took place at the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu Lagos.

- Prof. Jehu was a boxing trainer to Bash Ali - a former African Heavyweight boxing champion and saw to his victory over his  Cameroonian counterpart in a fight that took place at the indoor sports hall of the National Stadium Lagos in 1995.

Furthermore, may we forget not, that PROF. JEHU was a Vice Chancellorship Candidate of Enugu state University of Science and Technology, in 2015, and also a Senatorial Candidate of Enugu East Senatorial Zone in the 2019 General Elections of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
